International film scouts arriving at the IBF

Erin Hennicke had already been story editor at Barbra Streisand’s Barwood Films, now working for the largest literary scouting agency in New York, Franklin and Siegal, scouting books and material for Universal Studios.

Erik Palma scouts for the Disney-based Jerry Bruckheimer Films. After the success of the Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy, the company is now working on Confessions of a Shopaholic, adapted from Sophie Kinsella’s bestselling novel.

Claire Lundberg worked as director of development at Scott Rudin Productions. Now she is setting up her own film scouting company. Two of Scott Rudin’s recent productions received several Oscar: No Country for Old Men, adapted from the Corman McCarthy's book, and There Will Be Blood, based on Upton Sinclair’s novel Oil.

David Gerson is the Vice President of Production/Development at Focus Features in New York. Some of the projects he is involved with at Focus Features are Reservation Road (directed by Terry George and starring Joaquin Phoenix, Mark Ruffalo and Jennifer Connelly), 9 (the animated feature by Shane Acker, produced by Tim Burton), the Sam Mendes new comedy to be shoot in the U.S. in March and the remake of Memory of a Killer, starring Morgan Freeman.

Don Laventhall is Motion Picture and Television rights agent at Harold Ober Associates, one of the oldest US literary agencies. Founded in 1929 it has represented authors like Agatha Christie, F. Scott Fitzgerald and J.D. Salinger.

Maria B. Campbell is the founder of the international literary consulting company Maria B. Campbell and Associates, the exclusive Literary Representative for Warner Bros. Pictures.

Rosalind Ramsay founded the Rosalind Ramsay Literary Scouting Agency. Among her clients, she scouts for the UK film company Film 4, which is currently co-producing Vernon God Little, adapted from the DBC Pierre’s debut novel.

Anne Louise Fisher founded the Anne Louise Fisher Associates literary scouting agency. Among her clients, she scouts for Heyday Films. The British film company coproduced the films based on the Harry Potter saga, and is actually working on The Dogs of Babel, adapted from the Carolin Parkhurst's omonimous novel.

David Lipman works for the visual effects and animation studio Framestore CFC. Framestore worked on the production of the The Golden Compass, winner of the Academy Award for Special Effests. The company is corrently working on the production of The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian and Batman: The dark Knight, directed by Christopher Nolan.

Julian Friedmann is Joint Managing Director of Blake Friedmann Literary, TV and Film Agency, which represents 200 book and script writers worldwide.

Jessica Craig is foreign rights agents for United Agents Literary & Talent Agency, London.

Bertrand Hassini-Bonnette, financial director of France 2 Cinéma, a major French film company. France 2 Cinéma is currently working on Les Herbes Folles, with the critically-acclaimed director Alain Resnais, based on his first book adaptation, based on the novel L'incident, by Christian Gailly.

Augustin Wong is vice-president of Rhombus Media Inc. a major Canadian publisher company. The company recently co-produced the film Silk, based on Alessandro Baricco's homonymous novel, and Blindness, adapted from the novel of the Nobel Prize winner Josè Saramago.

Maria João Mayer founded with François d'Artemare the film company Filmes do Tejo, based in Lisbon, one of Portugal's most active production companies.

Maria Joao Sigalho works for the Portoguese production and distribution company Rosa Filmes.The company produced films directed by some of the most acclaimed portuguese directors, like Paulo Rocha, Alberto Seixa Santos and João Pedro Rodrigues.

Stefano Savio works for Paulo Branco’s Clap Filmes. Clap Filmes recently co-produced The Inner Life of Martin Frost, written and directed by Paul Auster.

Florian Môle is Head of Development at Les films Pelléas, the independent French company set up in 1990 by Philippe Martin.

Jeannette Garcia is Coordinator of Features Films and Communications for the Canadian Film Company Cirrus Com.

Marie Pierre Vallè is consultant for French production and distribution company Wild Bunch and Pan-Européenne. Wild Bunch is currently co-producing new projects by Woody Allen and Abel Ferrara.

Christian Zipperle works in the acquisition and development of upcoming projects at Schmitz Katze Filmkollektiv (Germany). The German company is currently producing Hidden, Agnieszka Holland’s new project.

Piotr Borowiec is feature film analyst at S.O.D.E.C., the Canadian government agency for cultural development.

Zdarvko Grigorov works for the Sofia International Film Festival and for the Bulgarian Bulgarian production and distribution company Art Fest.
